Where do I farm Timber? (Lumber Mill)

Timber is the resource you need to collect for the Lumber Mill medium sized building in your garrison. The nodes come in 3 sizes; Small Timber, Timber, and Large Timber and you need 10 timber to start a work order which then returns 20 Garrison Resources. You can have up to a maximum of 250 Timber in your bags.

Small Timber – Shadowmoon Valley

If you have only a level 1 or 2 Lumber mill I would suggest farming in Shadowmoon Valley. Almost all of the nodes spawn as Small Timber which means you won’t have to pass on any Timber or Large Timber nodes. I also recommend turning up your rendering distance to ultra if possible because you can see timber nodes from very far off in this zone; way farther than your minimap shows.

All Timber – Gorgrond

There are two places with absurdly high timber densities in Gorgrond.

The first is a small village on the northern coast that is a Lumberjack’s dream. Nodes of all sizes spawn here so if you have the ability to harvest them, you can get lots of Timber very quickly. There is a path going to this village just along the eastern edge of Blackrock Foundry.

The second spot is a swampy area in Everbloom Wilds, a dailies questing area on the eastern rim. The mobs here are level 100 and there are LOTS of them, so only go here if you’re ok to fight npcs to get your trees. Also note, if you’re Horde and have level 2 Trading Post you’ll be getting Laughing Skull rep for the kills you make here.

I’ve highlighted the route to take to go from one spot to another as there are mountains that make navigation difficult. There aren’t many trees in between the two spots but if you don’t want to wait for node respawns I recommend bouncing back and forth between the farming areas.

For the gorgrond place, you don’t have to move. Use the premade group finder to phase realms and you can continually harvest timber
